The UHNMAC now offers Illuminas MicroRNA Expression Profiling Panels. Powered by the proven DASL Assay, the Human and Mouse MicroRNA (miRNA) Panels measure the levels of 1146 or 656 miRNA, respectively. These panels are highly specific, allowing for single-nucleotide discrimination between related miRNA species to be achieved.
These fixed panels cover approximately 97% of the miRNA described in the miRBase database (Release 12.0) and target novel content identified with Illumina sequencing.

- Total RNA Quality Checked with Agilent BioAnalyzer ($10 fee is charged if RNA quality deemed too low quality to proceed with the experiment)
- Labelling of one RNA sample per array with streptavidin-cyanine-3
- Hybridisation/washing/scanning of arrays (iScan)
- Spot quantification (BeadStudio)
- Quantification output files sent to customer (via Data Portal)
Sample Requirement:
We request 200 ng of total RNA per sample. If you have less than 200 ng, please contact us to discuss your options.
Array Types and Format:
Human and Mouse MicroRNA Panels can be deployed on a 12-array BeadChip offering greater flexibility for experimental design and workflow. The 50-mer oligonucleotides probes are generated from recent versions of Sanger miRBase.
miRNA profiling is also available on the Affymetrix and Agilent array platforms.
